Additional Information
  • Yasawa Princess is not suitable for those with mobility problems
  • Children under the age of 21 are not accepted
  • SCUBA diving can be arranged aboard the boat, at a cost from USD$45 per dive. (PADI licence required)
  • Snorkelling equipment can be rented at a cost from USD$6 per person per day
  • Climate: November to March is hot and sunny with the occasional tropical shower. Rainfall can increase between April and October but is generally tropical downpours followed by sunshine
  • This cruise follows the Ari Atoll and Vaavu Atoll Itineraries on alternate weeks
  • The detailed itinerary is indicative and subject to change, and at the Captain's discretion as a result of weather or other factors

Day 1
London (UK) to Male

Depart from London on your flight to Male.

Day 2
Male - Ari Atoll Itinerary

Arrive in Male and transfer by dhoni to the MV Yasawa Princess for overnight.

Day 3
Maayafushi

Morning leisurely cruise across the channel to Ari Atoll. After lunch on board the ship, enjoy the afternoon swimming, snorkelling and sunbathing on a wonderful sandbank near the island of Maayafushi. There will be a check dive in the afternoon for Scuba divers and a night drive.

Day 4
Meerufenfushi

Spend a full day on the uninhabited island of Meerufenfushi, which has a reef to snorkel and crystal clear waters for swimming. After lunch on board, you can enjoy what nature has to offer on this island paradise. Late afternoon we wil be back on the ship, and in the early evening we'll head out again for a spot of night fishing. For divers there is one local dive in the morning and another in the afternoon.

Day 5
Alikoy

This morning, relax on a tranquil sandbank called Alikoy, which is close to the uninhabited picnic island of Dhiggiri, for some leisurely swimming, snorkelling and relaxing, totally at one with the surrounding environment. During the afternoon, we'll cruise on further south towards the island of Theluveligaa. Tonight is the Captain's dinner, when the charismatic Captain Ahmed will be sure to entertain you with his seafaring stories. Divers will have 2 dives.

Day 6
Theluveligaa

This morning we are on the picnic island of Theluveligaa, definitely a day for chilling out - sun umbrellas provided for that vital shade, great snorkelling to be had and a lovely picnic lunch to give you sustenance! You can head back to the ship in the afternoon and freshen up for a barbecue under the stars and a bit of limbo dancing! Dives are available morning and afternoon.

Day 7
Dhangethi

Today we will sail towards the local island of Dhangethi, where you can catcha glimpse of the local life and spend some time in the Cultural Centre which depaicts the fascinating history and cutlure of this uniqye nation. The simplicity and self-sufficiency of the Maldivian is artfully displayed here. After lunch on board we sail back up north towards the island of Mahibadhoo where we anchor for the night. Night fishing will be this evening's entertainment. Morning and afternoon dives today.

Day 8
Male

This morning we'll head back into Male waters with a quick stop en route for a swim from a sandbank near Maniyafushi. We reach Male in time to see something of the capital, and this evening's highlight is a fabulous Maldivian evening, a chance to dress in traditional attire, sample the local food and party Maldivian style.

Day 9
Male - Vaavu Atoll Itinerary

After a leisurely breakfast, enjoy a day of relaxation.

Day 10
Maafushi

Enjoy snorkelling, swimming and sunbathing at the Sand Bank near Maafushi. After lunch on board the ship we will cruise across the Atoll Channel to Vaavu Atoll - watch out for flying fish and dolphins on the way. Once anchored for the night, there will be a night fishing trip at sunset, followed by buffet dinner on board. There will be a check dive in the morning for scuba divers.

Day 11
Dhiggiri Island

Sail to the tourist resort of Dhiggiri Island where the whole day can be spent snorkelling, sunbathing and swimming. Lunch will be back on the ship, after which you can return to the resort, use the facilities and relax, and stay to enjoy the sunset. Morning and afternoon dives are available

Day 12
Vashogiri

During a leisurely breakfast, cruise to the picnic island of Vashogiri in Vaavu Atoll, where we spend a good few hours swimming, snorkelling and sunbathing. A picnic lunch will be served on the island, and a glass bottom boat will be available to take out and enjoy the sights of the underwater world. During the afternoon, it's back on board ship, which will take a leisurely sail back towards Maadhoofinolhu. Morning and afternoon dives are available.

Day 13
Guraidhoo

This morning is spent on a lovely natural sandbank near the island of Maadhoofinolhu, for swimming, snorkelling and sunbathing after which lunch will be served on board the ship. In the afternoon, we have a trip to the local island of Guraidhoo, where we're able to get a glimpse of the unique Maldivian way of life. During the evening we hold the weekly Captain's Dinner, and reflect on the cruise so far in good company. Morning and afternoon dives are available.

Day 14
Maadhoofinolhu

Today is a full day with nature on the uninhabited picnic island of Maadhoofinolhu - relax, swim, sunbathe and watch the vast horizon of the Indian Ocean in tranquil surroundings. A picnic lunch will be served on the island. In the late afternoon return to the ship and get ready for a beach barbecue served on the island.

Day 15
Male

Set sail in the morning and stop at a sandbank en route for a last swim and snorkel. Return to Male for shopping and sightseeing in the afternoon. This evening has a Maldivian theme when local fare will be served, traditional clothes will be worn and everyone can relax in good company.

Day 16
Male - London (UK)

After a leisurely breakfast, transfer by dhoni back to the airport for international departure flight, or extend your stay at one of our superb beach resorts.

On alternate weeks the cruise begins with the Vaavu Atoll itinerary commencing on day 9.
